UPDATE: AdWords Content Network placement reports

Filed under: AdWords — Kyle M Brown @ 12:24 pm

Google makes an official announcement on Content Network placement reports.

The Placement Performance report provides site-by-site performance metrics — including clicks, impressions, cost, and conversion data — for domains or URLs in the content network where your ads have appeared. The report also provides a new level of transparency for traffic you accrued from sites in our network that are participating in the AdSense for domains program. Currently, AdSense for domains statistics are collectively reported, but we are working to give you site-by-site level statistics soon.

Great addition and long over due. The content networks value should increase with this reporting. Hopefully pushing the standards of quality for AdSense publishers.

AdWords Ads displayed based on users behavior

Filed under: AdWords — Kyle M Brown @ 7:57 pm

Are Google AdWords Ads displayed based on users behavior? Will Critchlow apparently noticed this activity.

When I spoke to the account manager at AdWords, she told us that there has been a change to the algorithm to take into account your history with respect to the particular ad. Apparently this change has only come in the last few days - and I haven’t seen any mention of it (have I missed something?).

At first glance, this should be beneficial to the AdWords Advertiser because there will be fewer impressions but on the other hand , a customer may be interested in something tomorrow that they were not interested in today. Maybe an official announcement from Google will provide more clarity.
