Should’nt judges understand what they’re judging?
RTC (Resistance to Change) prevents many people from learning anything thats different than what they are use too. Im not sure what age or point in life people begin to turn off anything thats new to them and decide to only accept what they know. A story was released by Reuters about a Judge that has to preside over a case which involves presumed Islamic Terrorist that were plotting terrorist acts on a website.
These are actual quotes from the 59 year old Judge
A British judge admitted on Wednesday he was struggling to cope with basic terms like “Web site” in the trial of three men accused of inciting terrorism via the Internet
“The trouble is I don’t understand the language. I don’t really understand what a Web site is,”
“I haven’t quite grasped the concepts.”
Even though this was not a US court, I beleive the people that hold such positions, should at a minimum be required to take the time to research what there going to be judging ahead of time. These defendants are accessed of serious crimes and even though they have lawyers to represent them, are being judged by someone who is confused by the term “Web Site”. The complete story here.
