Wikipedia makes another move toward a Search Engine.

Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales’ Search Wikia project — an effort to create an open-source, community-built, transparent search engine that rivals Google and Yahoo — announced today that it’s adding an open-source “categorization” engine built by a firm called Intellisophic.
The software will help the search engine group similar items together in order to better understand and organize the Web.
The story goes on to mention that an initial interface should be online by the end of this year. This interface will not be perfect and will need the assistance of the public to develop into a mature search engine.
