Quick Start Guide for Google Adwords DONTS

Here is a short list of common mistakes OR things that you dont want to do with your Adwords account.

  1. Too many keywords in one ad group - Solution limit the number of keywords in the ad group to the most relevant. Monitor over time to eliminate poor performers.
  2. Not opting out of content network - New campaigns often suffer from inclusion in the content network. Start your campaigns without the content network.
  3. Only using broad match keywords - Use Phrase Match=“” and Exact Match= [] with these symbols to capture more more targeted customers and better conversions.
  4. Not using negative keywords - A cost free way to optimize your ads so that they dont show for unrelated (negative) keywords.
  5. Not split testing ads - Slit test consist basically of running multiple test, analyzing the results, eliminating the poorest performer, replacing it with another candidate and then repeating the cycle.
