What is a CRM? ( Salesforce definition )

The simplest, broadest definition can be found in the name: CRM is a comprehensive way to manage the relationship with your customers — including potential customers — for long-lasting and mutual benefit. More specifically, modern CRM systems enable you to capture information surrounding customer interactions and integrate it with every customer-related function and data point.

Another way to think of a CRM is the system used by a representative to view your account information when you call a company for service. For example your local ISP. These systems usually contain your name, address, phone, number, type of service, etc. Other departments within the ISP may need access to the same system for different data about your account. For example your local ISP’s:billing department may need all of the previously mentioned data and more importantly your last payment amount and date.

This partnership provides business owners of the SalesForce CRM with a means to manage their customers for what could be a service thats unrelated to PPC. However, if that business owner happens to offer AdWords management as well, then it provides convenient integration and what appears to be very thorough tracking of the AdWords campaign. The pricing also appears to be reasonable.

SalesForce receives a commission for reselling the AdWords service.

Interestingly enough, a very commonly used program, QuickBooks 2007 also contains direct links to the Google AdWords program
