Google versus eBay??

Filed under: Google — Kyle M Brown @ 12:00 am

Google announced that it would promote its payment processing service “Google Checkout” during the opening night of a yearly eBay convention “eBay Live” being held in Boston this year. This promotion was in the form of a party called the “Google Checkout Freedom Party” located conveniently near the eBay live event, directions were also included in the announcement.
Read more about the Google checkout freedom partyeBay followed with its decision to pull its Ads from the US Google AdWords network.

After which, Google cancels the party.

eBay Live attendees have plenty of activities to keep them busy this week in Boston, and we did not want to detract from that activity.

Is eBay letting Google know who’s in charge or is eBay going into the Ads business itself and using this as an opportunity to begin the separation.
