How to create a pie chart in Excel

Objective: Create a pie chart.

Prerequisite: Excel must be open.

Step 1) Create your spreadsheet. Figure 1.

Step 2) Select the spreadsheet data that will be contained in the chart. Figure 2.

Note: You select by pressing the left click button on the mouse and holding it while you drag it across the data you want to select. After all of your data is selected, release the left mouse button. Figure 3.

Step 3) While the data is selected, left click on the “Insert” link on the menu. Figure 4.

Step 4) Select “Chart”. Figure 5.

Step 5) Select “Pie” from the popup that appears. Figure 6.

Note: If you want to see a preview of you chart, click and hold “Press and hold to view sample”. Figure 7.

Step 7) Click “next”. Figure 8.

Step 8 ) Click “Finish”. Figure 9.
